Sarasota 5000
The novice women raced in their first race September 27 in the Sarasota 5000, bringing home a gold and beating the mixed eight. Of course, the mixed eight gave them a handicap of three minutes! The wager was: beer! Fun for all!

Who we are:

The Sarasota County Rowing Club (SCRC) promotes the sport of rowing for adults, men and women. SCRC has 100 members which range in ages from 23 to 80 and participate in both sculling and sweep rowing, competitively and recreationally.

We row most every day, mostly in the mornings as early as 6:45 a.m.

Masters Learn to Row Class

Where: SCRC Boatyard, 800 Blackburn Point Rd., Osprey, FL 34229
What: Learn the basics of sweep rowing by land and on-the-water training through (8) 2-hour sessions.

If you are ready to row, contact:
Cost: $250, paid in advance by check or PayPal (no refunds unless cancelled by the club)
Minimum Physical Requirements:

Touch your ankles without bending your knees;
Sustain aerobic activity for at least 15 minutes;
Lift 35 lbs. over your head;
Fit into narrow boat (not more than 20");
Swim (tread water a minimum of 10 minutes);
Bend your knees to the squat position.
